Course Summary
This course explores major historical events from early human development to the late Middle Ages. Students will study early civilizations in the Middle East, North Africa, India, and China, including the origins of Hinduism and Buddhism. They will also examine classical civilizations, the medieval period, and the growth of societies in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
By the end of this course, you will be able to do the following:
· Analyze the development and characteristics of early humans.
· Examine the growth of early civilizations of the Middle East and North Africa.
· Analyze the development and characteristics of early civilizations of India and China.
· Analyze the development and characteristics of later civilizations of the Mediterranean and the Middle East
· Analyze the development and characteristics of classical civilizations in Asia and the Americas.
· Examine the development of classical Greece and Rome.
· Analyze the development of the early medieval period.
· Analyze the development of the late medieval period in Africa and Asia.
· Analyze the development of the late medieval period in the West.
